Saturday morning November 12, my son and I had a great hunt! Together in our blind he had a very close range shot at a doe. His muzzleloader (#11 percussion cap ) missfired. The cap fired the gun did not. The deer did not spook. I handed him my gun and he managed to shoot the deer as it presented him with a nice broadside shot at about 15 yds. These pop up blinds are a very nice way to hunt. I put another cap on his gun as he began to reload my gun and some other deer showed up and I took a doe with his gun. This time it fired! Pretty nice to hunt together and each get a deer. We did see two bucks. One I rattled some horns at which he payed absolutely no attention to at all? Little too far to shoot at. Later we saw a decent buck chasing a doe, he was a couple minutes behind her. So, great hunt and now we are looking forward to some hickory smoked summer sausage!
